Hub centric rings (also called spigot rings or centering rings) are precision adapters that sit between your car's wheel hub and the alloy wheel center bore. They ensure your aftermarket wheels are perfectly centered on the hub — just like OEM wheels.
When you install aftermarket alloy wheels, the center bore is often larger than your car's hub. Without hub centric rings, the wheel is held in place only by the lug nuts — this can cause:
The image above shows the difference: with a hub centric ring, the wheel sits perfectly centered on the hub. Without one, there's a visible gap that allows the wheel to move slightly off-center.
A hub centric ring fills the gap between the hub and the wheel bore, centering the wheel precisely on the hub before you tighten the lug nuts. This distributes the load evenly and eliminates any play between the wheel and hub.
Strictly speaking, lug nuts can hold the wheel in place. But in practice, hub centric rings make a noticeable difference — especially at higher speeds. Most wheel professionals and car enthusiasts recommend them for any aftermarket wheel installation.
